Formula D

1-2 Hours
Formula D is a boardgame that simulates Formula 1 racing, using dice as gears. The game is for two to ten players. It was designed by Eric Randall and Laurent Lavour. The game was published by Ludodèlire in 1990. After a few years the rights to the game passed to EuroGames/Descartes Editeur who produced a lot of different circuits, up to a total of 22 circuits. The object of the game is easy, try to be the first to cross the finish line. But the tricky part is to get there before the other players and avoid crashing or damageing your car. To a lot of players this is the only formula one boardgame that comes close to a real simulation. To make it even more realistic most current circuits have been produced. If it is not produced by the manufacturer, there is a good chance you can find it on the internet.
